Nunyati Fund

Baliey and Dotse Dunyo met and fell in love in his village of Dagbamete, Ghana in 2016 and were married there in 2017. Since then, they have been working in partnership with the village to make a meaningful impact on this incredible place.

In 2020 they created the Nunyati Fund. The aim of this fund is to provide culturally relevant, community driven support to all things related to the cause of education in the village.

Since its inception, in partnership with and driven by the requests of the community, the Nunyati Fund has already overseen a complete revitalization of the Kindergarten Building of the school. They hired a local artist, Kodzo Davor, to bring the run down building back to life with bright colours and educational images painted all over the outside and inside.

They have also set up an ongoing fund for the purchase of textbooks, school supplies, and for the procurement of uniforms for every child in the village who requires one.

However, in talks with the village Elders and school representatives, it became clear that there is so much that can be done to support this incredible community and the children within it, to reach their fullest potential.

The Nunyati Fund currently has some very exciting projects in the works to support the academic and ongoing successes of all the children and young adults. From ideas for childrens stories written in the local language and drawing on the experiences and lived realities of village life, to supporting the creation of a brand new trade school in the village, and a scholarship fund for students entering post secondary - the sky is truly the limit!

As we work on finding ways to make this initiative fully sustainable, we ask that you continue to help us make these dreams a reality for a community that deserves this and so much more.
